The latest research has demonstrated that there existed complex interactions between lipid risk and inflammation risk, and the co-occurrence of these two factors can synergistically potentiate the adverse effects. Furthermore, in our previous studies, D-dimer has emerged as a novel biomarker to evaluate the prognosis of ischemic stroke. The study aims to investigate the combined effect of D-dimer, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] on 1-year clinical outcomes from the perspectives of thrombosis, inflammation, and lipid risk simultaneously.
Continuous variables were presented as Mean ± SD or median (IQR) and were analyzed with Student’s t test and Mann-Whitney U test. Categorical variables were represented as frequencies (percentage) and compared using the chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test. We calculated Kaplan–Meier survival curve and using logistic/COX regression to estimate the association between the combined effect of D-dimer, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] and the poor outcomes. The results were described as odds ratios (OR) or hazard ratio (HR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). All tests were two-tailed, and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. All analyses were conducted using SAS version 9.4 statistical software (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, North Carolina, USA).
