Background And Purpose

Studies have confirmed that patients with minor stroke or TIA have a high risk of stroke recurrence or progression. And the mild disabling neurologic deficits may lead to progressive stroke or stroke recurrence and disablity. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the efficacy and safety of clopidogrel plus aspirin vs aspirin alone in patient with and without minor disabling neurologic deficit, in the Clopidogrel in High-Risk Patients with Acute Non-disabling Cerebrovascular Events.

Method

The patients are divided into two groups according to baseline NIHSS ( disabling neurologic deficits group:score of ≥1 on NIHSS vision question or language question or extinction or motor questions ; nondisabling group: other patients). The study assess the interaction of the treatment effects of 2 antiplatelet therapies among patients with and without disabling neurologic deficits.
