Under the active advocacy of Baiyun Liu, Jiyao Jiang, and Sai Zhang, some experts successively formulated guidelines and expert consensus in the neurotrauma field according to the conditions in China to guide clinical practices, which greatly increased treatment levels. In August of 2012, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA) established the Neurotrauma Training Committee of CMDA. Professor Baiyun Liu, from the Neurosurgery Center in Beijing Tian Tan Hospital which is the Flagship of Neurosurgery in China, served as the president of the committee. Its purpose was to build the treament guidelines of neurotrauma and trainings for neurosurgeons in China. Different types of conferences were held every year, including the National Neurotrauma Conference which was held each year from 2011 and more than 20 study classes which were held each year. A series of popularizer teaching materials from CMDA about neurotrauma was produced by Baiyun Liu and Sai Zhang and reference books such as “Modern brain injury” and “Guidelines for clinical treatment of traumatic brain injury” were published by Prof. Jiyao Jiang. These works all powerfully promoted the development of the neurotrauma career in China.
