Background And Purpose

High level of apolipoprotein B (Apo B) is associated with incident coronary artery disease (CAD) when low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level or non–high density lipoprotein cholesterol (non–HDL-C) is low. However, data on the relationship of Apo B with coronary atherosclerosis plaques burden are limited. The present study aimed to estimate associations between Apo B with the presence and burden of coronary atherosclerosis plaques.

Method

Multivariate binary logistic regression and multivariate ordinal logistic regression. Discordance analysis defining based on residuals and medians.

Conclusion

Discordantly high Apo B with LDL-C and non-HDL-C were associated with an increased odds of the coronary atherosclerotic plaques and its burden. These findings highlighted the importance of Apo B for primary prevention of coronary atherosclerosis.
