Background And Purpose

The common ground of previous studies were performed at baseline or at the end point of proteinuria, which did not take into account changes over time. Persistent status of proteinuria was seldom evaluated. Proteinuria also was associated with the status of glucose level. So, this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between time-updated proteinuria and risk of stroke among a large cohort of general Chinese population with different glucose level.

Method

time-updated Cox regression model

Conclusion

Time-dependent proteinuria is an independent risk factor of stroke, especially in the normoglycemia and prediabetes populations.
